Q: How can I join the privilege scheme?
“Cine Fans” application can be completed through online application either on HKIFF website or Cityline website; or hand in the completed application form to the HKIFF office in-person. For further information, please visit our website http://www.cinefan.com.hk/.
Q: What method of payment is accepted for the application?
MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Diner credit card are accepted for on-line application payment. Cash and HK bank cheque payments are accepted for in-person application.
Q: Can I join in anytime of the year?
Yes, but due to the different entry time, the choice of welcoming gifts and promotion would be varying based on different entry period. For further information, please visit our website http://www.cinefan.com.hk/.
Q: Why the privilege scheme is valid till the year end of 2020? Isn’t it unfair to the late entry applicants?
Privilege is scheduled to expire at the year end, as to match the calendar year. They can enjoy the benefits of the HKIFF after their membership renewal. For members who apply at different stages will receive different kind of discounts and other benefits.
Q: Are there any age restriction for application?
No age restriction for any privilege scheme application. You may be eligible to apply for Student Privilege upon receipt of your Hong Kong Full-time Student ID Card offered by an acceptable institution in Hong Kong.
Q: Privacy of the privileges
We request you to fill out the application with your personal information, such as your name, postal address, contact number and e-mail address, and the agreement of whether you accept the mailing services of HKIFF e-newsletters on our promotion or not. No members’ information and records will be shared with the third parties except for the purposes of providing or promoting services or other products made available by HKIFFS and the partner organizations. Member can request HKIFFS stop mailing/ sending information on that product and service or change personal profile from time to time.
Q: Do I need to pay extra fee for on-line application?
No additional fee will be charged for on-line application.
Q: Privilege Scheme Cancellation
For questions for Cine Fan cancellation, please e-mail to membership@hkiff.org.hk or contact 2970 3300. No refund will be entertained for any cancellation of privilege scheme before expiry.
Q: How to collect the privilege card
Upon completion of the application, applicant will receive the confirmation e-mail with collection details in due course within 10 working-days. Applicants please go to the appointed location with the confirmation e-mail to collect the privilege card. Number of welcome gifts are limited and will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicant also could choose to use local registered mail service.
Q: I have completed the privilege application on-line, but still haven’t received the confirmation e-mail. What should I do?
You may contact Cityline via the Customer Service Hotline 2314 4228, to confirm the application procedure whether it succeeds or fails.
Q: Do I need to pay extra fee for on-line ticketing?
A handling charge (which is non-refundable) is levied at HK$8 per ticket. The service fee is subjected to adjustment by Cityline (HK) Limited.
Q: Can I still enjoy ticket promotion without showing my privilege card at URBTIX outlets?
Unfortunately, Cine Fan must present their valid privilege card to enjoy ticket discount at URBTIX outlets.
Q: Any student discount for the HKIFF Cine Fan Programme?
No student discount ticket sale available for the HKIFF Cine Fan Programme. Only Student Privilege is eligible for on discount-priced HKIFF Cine Fan Programmes tickets. (Number of tickets is limited and in first-come-first-serve basis). Student Privilege must present their valid Cine Fan Student Privilege Card when they buy the tickets at URBTIX box-offices outlets.
Q: Can I enjoy the ticket discount for the screening that organized by HK Film Archive or Leisure and Cultural Services Department or Broadway Cinemathque?
Ticket discount are only offered for HKIFFS organized or co-organised screenings and events with other parties. Please notice the announcement from our Society for the further information.
Q: What if my privilege card is lost?
Loss of privilege card must be reported at once. Replacement cards are available at HKIFFS office and you need to fill out the replacement form before you send out to HKIFFS office or hand-in to our staff in-person. Replacement form is available for download here and re-issue fee of HK$50.
Q: What is the HKIFF Cine Fan Programme?
Start from April 2013, HKIFF Cine Fan Programme is a monthly-basis screenings programme, which includes different contents of films. For require the latest information of the programmes, please visit http://www.cinefan.com.hk.
Q: I used to be the F-Cube member, what is the different between the HKIFF Cine Fan privilege scheme? Can I renewal my F-Cube membership instead of applying for the HKIFF Cine Fan?
Although the HKIFF Cine Fan privilege scheme and F-Cube are both introduced by HKIFFS, but HKIFF Cine Fan is a new privilege scheme launching in 2013 and no relation to F-Cube. Former F-Cube members must fill out the new application form if they interest in becoming the HKIFF Cine Fan privilege. NO F-Cube renewal service is available and the F-Cube membership card is invalid.
