Total Recall

  • Dir: Paul Verhoeven

  • USA, 1990, 113minmins

  • Cast: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sharon Stone, Michael Ironside

What does Arnold Schwarzenegger know and when did he know it? As Douglas Quaid, your average future citizen with Sharon Stone as a wife, he is haunted by dreams of a lover and a life on Mars. When the therapeutic explorations suggested for him go awry, things become more complicated as his friends and wife prove homicidal rather than supportive, opening up even more chambers of repressed memory. And then Arnie goes to Venusville – the red light district of Mars – and all hell breaks loose. Based on Philip K. Dick’s short story, Total Recall remains a mind-bending futuristic satire that challenged notions of dreams, memories and identity.
