Sato Shinsuke’s turbo-charged, hyped screen adaptation of Oku Hiroya’s hit comic after Gantz , converting Shinjuku into an urban landscape of scifi fantasy. An anti-ageist thrust that balances thrilling action and apt social observations, and unexpectedly heartwarming.
